Coagulants are commonly used chemical reagents in water treatment processes.

***Polyaluminum Chloride (PAC), PolyDADMAC, Coagulant, Flocculant, Cationic polymer Coagulating agent***

The main function of coagulants is to combine suspended particles and colloidal materials in water into large pieces for the purpose of precipitation or filtration removal. Coagulants are generally divided into inorganic coagulants and organic coagulants.

Inorganic coagulants mainly include aluminum salts, iron salts, etc. They interact with colloidal materials in water through charge neutralization, causing them to aggregate into large pieces and precipitate. Commonly used aluminum salt coagulants include sulfuric acid aluminum and hydrochloric acid aluminum, while iron salt coagulants include sulfuric acid iron and hydrochloric acid iron. These inorganic coagulants have the advantages of low cost and simple operation, but it is necessary to pay attention to avoid pollution during their use.

Organic coagulants mainly refer to polymer-based coagulants, such as polyacrylic acid, polyethyleneimine, etc. These polymers can promote colloidal materials to aggregate into large pieces and precipitate by changing the interface tension of water and increasing the surface charge of colloidal materials. Organic coagulants are widely applied in water treatment, but attention should be paid to their dosage and concentration to avoid adverse effects on water quality.

In summary, coagulants are an indispensable chemical reagent in water treatment processes. They can help remove suspended particles and colloidal materials in water and improve water quality. However, when using coagulants, attention should be paid to environmental protection and safety to ensure sustainable development of water environment.
